I know what you mean. These days the core of the Republican party is disturbing in how rigid, and frankly out of touch it is. You said misogynistic and nasty. Try prehistoric. These are comments regarding the issue 'no abortion, not even for rape or incest cases'
Political analysts have speculated that the Republican demographic is shrinking while the Democrat voters reflect the expanding demographic of America. The outpouring of vitriol and bitterness (and in social media like Twitter; noxious racism) has been astounding. You'd think Armageddon had come over there rather than a president getting a second term.
Speaking of George W, I've come to realise the Bush party did its best to appear "aw shucks" naive while being extremely canny. How do you shuffle a complete overhaul of personal liberties and privacy issues past the public? Put a clown in front and have everyone laugh at him. Stupid - yes, harmless - definitely not. Stirring hysteria over the war on terrorism was a bonus.

Correct. It will be a test of whether they do really want to see their country get ahead if they allow things to happen or block every economic policy move the Dem government tries to make, simply because they can. That's why I said Obama's got even more work cut out for him. He's basically got to work miracles if he's to make any progress at all.
As for memes, I've seen some excellent ones, but didn't save them because I didn't realise anyone here would be interested. Trump's tantrum was hilarious, truly classic.
