I already have lost many hours to it, such an enriching game world.

But isn't it just GTA with horses ? because if thats the case Im not in. I think the GTA games were great but now suffer very badly from a sense of repetition and have become boring as hell.

I think it's much better than GTA.
There is so much to do besides the story.
Hunting for animals and treasure, random events happening all the time, stranger missions, or just exploring! I've spent a good few hours just taking in the scenery.
Also there are some fun cheats. Me and a friend had unlimited ammo and one that sets the person on fire when you kill them. And unlimited dead eye. We did this for over an hour and it did not get boring.

There's a much greater sense of atmosphere. As it is essentially a Western, it fits into conventions you'd expect from a counterpart in film or television, making it a lot less like GTA. The music, for example, is amongst the greatest gaming soundtracks I've ever heard, it complements the game perfectly and goes to extraordinary lengths to connect you with the world. It's definitely worth a rental at the least to see if it's your thing, but I personally think it's astonishing.

Amazing game, total fave of the year and far better than its counterpart GTA4.

Has anyone had a go online, I did today and spent 30 mions wandering around on my own trying to start games or find active ones and not a jot of any, am I doing something wrong or just missing something obvious?

Dude, try and arrange a time that you'll next be online and I'll join you, the multiplayer does seem to rely more on you coming up with your own thing rather than a strict set of rules and goals. I've had a few sessions with some mates, form a posse and create our own fun, just take a pinch of imagination and it goes miles.

In my opinion it is so much better than GTA. There's so much to do and the atmosphere is so much more immersive than any of the previous GTAs. Also I find it really addicting (I wouldn't be suprised if I have lost a day of my life on it haha)

I have not played this game as much as I would like, but am sure to do so in the future, as recently I purchased RED DEAD REDEMPTION: UNDEAD NIGHTMARE too. Only time will tell which will bite me first - a Ghoul or Rattlesnake!

The non-linear playing style reminds me of the fantasy game THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION - another of my PS3 favourites.

Just had this back from my mate.

I enjoy the multi-player,there is so much you can do, much better than GTA4 - I only went on once.
