Default General Telly Thread

Can we make this a sticky for random telly comments?

Anyone watch Derren Brown 'Hero at 30,000 feet' last night? He used to blow me away but this was just crap. Seemed so utterly staged and fake and didn't get the 'live' angle.

I missed that. Shame to hear your thoughts on it Zip, I saw him perform live a few years back and it was a terrific show, he had a very peculiar brand of showmanship, kept me entertained yet somehow managed to offset my initial state of 'this jammy bastard is going to try messing with my head'. Very clever really, the finale being a great rug swept form udner my feet moment. I believe a version was recorded a version and later shown on telly. Wasn't quite the same, the multiple camera angles and brisk editing were detrimental to the game he was playing, made personal involvement far harder.

Yeah I've seen him live twice (few years ago) and I really believed. His earlier 'on street' etc shows were great.

It's half two in the morning. I planned on an early night but ended up staying up to watch Species then The Fog on ITV4. I have them both on DVD but decided to watch them anyway since it's actually an alright bit of scheduling for such a channel.

The guys he spoke to who had escaped the church but still believed in Scientology seemed pretty normal and there's a couple of the celebs he interviewed that I had no idea were scientologists.

Default Man Vs Food

Been watching this quite a lot over the past couple of weeks. It's on the Food Channel several times a day. Any time I watch it I get really really hungry. I actually feel quite bad for the guy when he can't complete his challenge and I don't know why he isn't fatter than he is.

Default clocks

My Virgin+ box chopped an hour off the end of any films or shows I was recording when the clocks went back the other night.(really annoying) But when I thought about it, should it not have recorded an extra hour?
