Just watched 'Legend of the fist - The Return of Chen Zhen' starring one of my favorite martial arts action stars Donnie Yen and thought that I would start a thread on here to see if anyone else likes Martial arts films. Who are you favorite actors and what are your fave films?

Good one Jay.
Recently Ive been impressed by Blood and Bone starring Jai Michael White. Very convincing Martial Arts and an ok movie. Past favourites are Enter The Dragon. ( obviously) Dragon ( the Bruce Lee story) Ong Bak ( only the first one though) House Of the Flying Daggers and the cheesey/guilty pleasure that is... Mortal Kombat.

Enter the Dragon is a classic and it was responsible for bringing martial arts to the masses. It was one of the first blu-ray discs I bought and they have done quite a good job on the picture quality.

I love the old Jackie Chan movies especially Police Story, Miracles and Project A. The films he did with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao such as Dragon’s Forever and the Lucky Stars films are also great fun.
Jet Li is another fav of mine. Some of my faves from him are: Once Upon a Time in China, Fearless and Twin Warriors. More recently there’s Donnie Yen who seems to be the only martial artist from Hong Kong that’s releasing consistently good movies at the moment. My faves: Ip Man, 14 Blades, Seven Swords. Jacky Wu has also impressed me recently especially in Fatal Contact.

Hi there, i was wondering if anyone could help me find out the title of a martial art film i watched a few years ago. A friend of mine back then showed me a bit of a film where it involved ONE martial artist working his way up a tower or building with different levels, each level containing a fighter better than the last. The main part i remember was one fighter had some kind of sand spread across the floor, which made the fight scene between the two of them very good, they were kind of sliding around fighting on it. I don't really remember much more because i only saw a little bit of the film. If you know of such a film i would be very great full if you could tell me the title.
thanks, Lembo. |

You sure it wasn't Bruce Lee's Game of Death? He fights Abdul Kareem Jabbar the very tall basketball player.
