![]() Bolaji Badejo. The Nigerian design student who played the xenomorph in Alien. About a million feet tall and skinny as hell, he brought a beauty and balletic poise to the creature that hasn't been repeated in any of the sequels. His movements make certain shots in the film seem eerily close to H. R. Giger's original sketches and paintings. As far as I know, this was his only role. ![]() How cool are those pictures?

The makeup and effects whiz is to come out of retirement for two new movies.
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/24770 It's good to hear George Romero's go-to-guy for zombie effects and gore is getting back to what he loves and does best.

I love me some Savini, as the kids are saying these days. A SFX whizz and proud owner of some great cameos (especially Sex Machine in From Dusk 'Til Dawn).

I only knew the name as the director of 'Invaders from Mars' but this wonderful essay by David Bordwell sheds considerable light onto an unsung hero of early (ish) cinema.
Well worth half an hour of your time if your interest in cinema goes beyond popcorn munching fare. http://www.davidbordwell.net/essays/menzies.php |

You've probably already completed a top 50 about this already, however I'd be curious to see your latest opinions on actors in either major films or even small independent films who truly deserved some honors for their performance and got nothing except for perhaps word-of-mouth throughout the industry. Michael Shannon is one of my favorite actors from his performance in "BUG", and most people I tell that to have never even heard of the film done by the same director of "The Exorcist". ...I want to see "BUG" as a stage play, but that's another top 50...
