Simply pit two actors against each other and let the forum decide who has the superior acting chops. This was popular on the original TF site and the Old Guard forum. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been done here yet so thought it fitting to resurrect the beast, and with all the talk of grizzly old Jeff Bridges I couldn't think of a better place to start...

Good choice Roba! I always get the two of them mixed up...anyone else? I pick Jeff.
(Could always add a poll?) |

I'm a big fan of Kurt Russell. Especially in The Thing. So I'm always going to go with him. Jeff Bridges is great though and is probably among my favourite actors. He's even managed to shine in his more recent big budget, effects heavy fare.

I'm a fan of Kurt's too, he's excellent in The Thing and the rest of his work is solid enough - currently enjoying his turn in Unlawful Entry. Jeff has the edge though, thanks to his tremendous range and effortlessly cool persona. He has the ability to play goofy, threatening, obnoxious, haunted, suave, heroic etc with ease and, whichever hat he has on, remains immensely likeable and highly watchable. As mentioned in the Bridges thread often putting those sharing screen time in the shade. Arlington Road and The Fisher King are favourites of mine and I also enjoy The Vanishing (both his performance and the film). Haven't seen the original yet which I know is widely considered superior.
Btw, a poll's a great idea... I tried to see how to add one but couldn't figure it out ![]() Any help appreciated. |

Mr Bridges, for the reasons stated above by Jeff.
