If Blu-Ray is so great and far more superior to DVD, then why is it distributors are releasing Triple-Play sets? I can understand making a digital copy available to allow you to watch it on your smartphone or iPod, but why have the movie on DVD - surely if you've bought a Blu-Ray disc, it implies you've got a Blu-Ray player and as such negates the requirement for a DVD??
That said, I might be wrong, but I get the feeling that certain Triple-Play (and possibly Double-Play) Blu-Ray releases don't have an equivalent DVD-only release? Perhaps a cunning ploy to shift more Blu-Ray discs?? |

I felt the same about triple pay at first but then I soon realised that the DVD came in handy as my in-laws don't have a blu-ray player so I can lend them the DVD copy while still keeping my blu-ray copy at home. I do also download the digital copy on Itunes. Shame that these versions are a few quid dearer though.

I give my spare DVDs from triple play sets to my nephew usually. His dad won't spring for a blu-ray yet.

They used to be invaluable to me as I could take them to work on nights where we didn't have a blu ray. Also many houses have more than one player but usually only one is a bluray.

Trust me, if your Misses watches shite like Twilight you'll be thankful she can fuck off upstairs and watch the DVD.

If my Mrs watched Twilight it would be grounds for divorce.
