Default online shops?

Not sure where this thread belongs so feel free to move it..

Anyone got any ideas of online shops stocking old movies to buy on video and dvd? I've hit a stumbling point in my plan to watch all john cusack's films - theres one i can't find anywhere.

I could get it off amazon.com from the states on region 1 dvd for about £12 (which I'd be willing to pay) but then a thing popped up about having to pay extra duty on importing it - is this likely to be a lot??

Or if anyone has a copy of Floundering (1994) they want to get rid off I'm your girl.

In my experience I would get it from Amazon. Ive bought around 10 cds and 3 dvdsfrom the states and never paid more than standard shipping rate. Unless you are buying loads of dvds at once you should have no problem. Plus its usually far cheaper to buy direct than from a specialist store in this country.

I think Ancient is right, you should be fine importing a single DVD from the USA and not get stung with the customs charge. It's only if the purchase is over a certain amount (think it's around £18 but I'll try to check on that) so be careful ordering any expensive Blu-ray box sets.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'll go for it, otherwise I'm going to be rather stuck.

Now to find something in my or someone else's home that plays region 1 dvds!

That amount is correct. Any purchase worth the equivalent of £18 or over incurs a hefty customs charge, so best to keep orders below that.
My suggestion would be to go with amazon.com, avoid using any of their marketplace sellers even though they can be cheaper. Amazon itself is more reliable and you have comeback if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the advice. DVD arrived no problem and quite quickly from the US, so onward with the challenge I go!
