right you are old boy.
btw, grammar* ![]() Reckon you'd be right, Zip. The VUE near me knows it's the only place within miles therefore they can be as cak and smelly as they like. Last edited by morris; 16-03-2010 at 11:02 PM. |

There is an Odeon and a VUE less than a mile away from the Cineworld I frequent, so I think you're onto something there.

I think I've seen close to £500 worth of cinema so far this year. Blimey.

I love my cineworld card, but I've started trying to cut back a little. I keep going to see things I know are going to be rubbish, just because its 'free'. |

So you're essentially supporting a bunch of rotten sequels and remakes. Don't think you are because you didn't pay individually for each one? They count heads and tickets and bums on seats. So you are supporting Nightmare on Elm Street if you go and see it. sometimes I've lamented the lack of a concession cinema near me but there is always Orange Wednesday and tbh, there are fewer and fewer films actually worth seeing at the moment. Hollywood take note, we're getting bored of your rehased shite and your attendance numbers are down. And rightly so. Like you, Zippy even if I had a free admission card I'd use it with discretion. I don't see it's anything to be proud of that you've wasted your time seeing crap like GI Joe, Star Pants or the latest Nic Cage turkey. |

Because I enjoy being pedantic, I'll have to say that to see a film is often £4.60 in my local cineworld.
There is that problem. I have seen some guff, but on the toher hand I've gotten to enjoy some films that I would've given a miss normally. Though they are massively outweighed by the guff. But then I see Ponyo 10 times and it kinda balances out. There are things I won't touch though. You won't find me going to see The Last Song simply because it's the only thing I haven't seen, I have some form of self-respect and dignity. I'll go and see something as long as there's a hope that there may be one or two decent elements about it. Halloween 2 wasn't particularly good, but the lighting and atmosphere (for the most part) was top notch, just let down primarily by hammy acting and too much plot. |
