Atonement is a rare thing. You think it is going to be a typical period drama skewed towards the female watcher and a bit of a schmaltzy love story. What it IS is an incredible film full of outstanding imagery, two riveting performances and a truly heartbreaking ending which more than justifies the whole movie. I truly think this is getting near to being a classic movie.

Fankoo.
Back to normal.
Zodiac.
Bit late on this one. Good performances especially from Mark Ruffalo ( didn't know he could act LOL )
but a VERY slow film that was a bit of a chore to watch.3/5
Friday 13th (remake)
Well what is there to say. Standard slasher fare with a few nice deaths and plenty of boobage. Its a bit disingenious to compare it with the original as that was only average itself. Served the purpose. 3/5

I rather enjoyed Zodiac, it was a tad laboured but I enjoyed it, 4/5 from me.

I got to say though, and I dont know what it is about him, but i just dont like Mark Ruffalo, he is perfectly competant actor, I just dont like him.

I'm the complete opposite, I find him instantly likeable and would watch him in most things (*ahem 13 going on 30*).

You know how sometimes all the critics tell you how bad a film is and then you think "oh sod it I will give it a go" and you find that its a really good movie or at the very least good passable fun. Its happened to me several times now and Ive learnt to give most things a go.
I rented out The Spirit on this theory.

Its Shite.

Me too. I really liked him in You Can Count On Me and 13 Going On 30 (the thriller dance scene...). I think the only thing I didn't like him in was In The Cut. I just didn't like the film at all.
