I may have to change my view on Blu-Ray soon. As prize for winning a competition several months back, I was rewarded with Series 1 of Deadwood (top stuff) and.................

A Werner Herzog Blu-Ray set. Comprising Encounters At The End Of The World, Grizzly Man, La Soufriere, The White Diamond and Flying Doctors Of East Africa.

Lovely stuff, and slowly changing my views on the format.

Blu-ray is both rejuvenating and destroying the film industry for me. I almost NEVER go out to see films in the theater anymore because a 120hz 1080p 46" TV in the living room just looks better than anything else. F**k $13.50 tix to the Arclight or even $10.50 at the AMC when I can netflix something for a buck and have it look better.

I'm getting like that, although I love the cinema I do wait for some films to come out on Blu-ray or import multi region films from the states.

i got a 50inch HD tv and blu-ray player etc and i love watching the films on it now. Avatar looks amazing and if you then switch back to say a old episode of only fools and horses the difference in quality is immense.always buy blu-rays discs now even though they cost that bit more. still not sure about 3-D yet.
