Are they worth it?
my opinion 1. Johnny Depp - $50 million ......- not for a long time 2. Ben Stiller - $38 million ......- NO 3. Tom Hanks - $30 million ......- not lately 4. Adam Sandler $26.6 million ......- HELL TO THE NO 5. Leonardo DiCaprio $18 million ......- hmm. yes 6. Daniel Radcliffe $16 million ......- NOPE. Can't act 7. Robert Downey Jnr $14.6 million ......- almost 8. Tom Cruise $14.6 million ......- LOOK INTO MY EYE. 9. Brad Pitt $13 million ......- NO. wife earns enough to pay for their sprogs. 10.George Clooney $12.6 million ......- sure why not. This is me musing on their star power and watchability. But in a nutshell I agree with Punch. It's too much for a human being who isn't saving the world but only playing people who do. Last edited by morris; 14-09-2010 at 11:49 AM. |

It was probably remiss of me not to have put this up at the same time, but the information was more difficult to find. Below is the top 10 women earners. Discuss as before.
1. Sandra Bullock - $56 million 2. Cameron Diaz - ) 2. Reese Witherspoon - ) $32 million 4. Jennifer Anniston - $27 million 5. Sarah Jessica Parker - $25 million 6. Julia Roberts - $20 million 7. Angelina Jolie - $20 million 8. Drew Barrymore - $15 million 9. Meryl Streep - $13 million 10. Kristen Stewart - $12 million The biggest surprise on that list, I guess, is good old Streep. Amazing how she just keeps pulling in the dollars. I say good on her.

Its interesting to see Bullock so high, well at the top, its also an interesting question as to whether they are worth it.
I think it is dependant on the film, if say Robert Downey Jr is in a film that earns £600 million, and he is an integeral part then sure that amount of money is just, but then you could say that the film may not of been as much of a success if he hadnt been in it...I have just seen the gaping hole in my logic...hmmm, in that case, im not actually sure if they are or not.

Apart from Jolie and Streep, most of the top-earning actresses are ever present names in rom-coms. That says a lot about Hollywood and movie-goer tastes but I'm not sure it says anything good. It seems they have to pay their chick flick 'dues' if they want to be big earners.
Kristen Stewart is there for the same reason Dan Radcliffe is: a hugely successful franchise. Half of the actress list are Oscar winners. On the highest paid actor list only Hanks and Clooney have Oscars. Interesting. Last edited by Kiba.; 14-09-2010 at 11:39 PM. |

And have you noticed that the top 10 women seems to mainly consist of women with big chins? Witherspoon, Barrymore, Anniston, Stewart. What does that say about Hollywood?

You could be onto something there, Jonesy. A while ago Demi Moore would have been on that list of top earners.

Does this mean the Willis children will someday rule Hollywood with their Judge Dredd jaws?
