Default Embarrassed it took you 2 watches to realise its quality!

I know we all must have some movies we first watched and thought WTF???????

yet the second time around you think 'WOW!!! how on earth did i not realise how great this film is!

I think the main ones for me were

Watchmen
Zodiac
The Big Lebowski

I am ashamed to say!

I hate to admit this, but I didn't like Hellraiser first time I saw it. I remember thinking it was boring and depressing but now it's among my favourite films and I have no idea what I was thinking first time round.

My biggest one was Firefly. Caught a couple of episodes and thought ???? honestly...really ?
Then about a year later I picked up the boxset and watched it from the start.
HUGE fan now.

'In Brugges' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' both films that stand up really well to repeated viewings after I was less than impressed the first time.

'Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen' was hugely disappointed the first time on a crest of backlash and anti-hype, but with each subsequent viewing (I've seen it a fair few times being a self confessed Transfiormerphile.) I enjoyed it more and more, it's not perfect, but it's loud, brash and has some excellent action set pieces and is nowhere near as bad as everyone makes out.

How can you not love Optimus Prime ripping the arm of Starscream and then hitting him with it! Glorious cinema!

Blade Runner had me confused as to what all the fuss was about the first time I watched it.

Several films underwhelmed me on first viewing, and have grown on me since.

Apocalypse Now is another. In fact, gives me an idea for another thread, which I may or may not have started on the old TF forum actually.

I had to watch Casablanca about 20 times before I began to appreciate it.

This may seem like a silly question, but why would you watch a film twenty times if you couldn't 'appreciate' it. I'm assuming you weren't enjoying it or possibly watching it?

I can't think of many films I've watched over twenty times, probably the original 'Star Wars' from when I was a little 'un.

Maybe it was some new really crap form of torture. Make someone watch a film they don't like 20 times. Fetch the comfy chair!

The Matrix, I wasn't impressed when I saw it at the cinema but liked it much more when I watched it again on DVD.
