Embarrased to say it was BatMan Begins Nolan's 1st went in as a comic book fan & started picking it to pieces then thought I was being to over-critical & decided to see it again & enjoyed it a great deal.

Last Year at Marienbad - first time I watched it I was utterly perplexed, but on repeated viewings it started to make some semblance of sense and now I can enjoy it for what it is, without being continually vexed by the film's lack of coherence.

Also, Brazil; I did not see what all the fuss was about first time around, but it grew on me and is now possibly my favourite of all Terry Gilliam's films.

I think you had it right the first time, to be honest.

Default The Darjeeling Limited

I'm not sure why I didn't "get" The Darjeeling Limited the first time I saw it. It's gotten better after each viewing and is now my favorite Wes Anderson films.

I don't think I was really paying attention when I first saw The Dark Knight but after a second watch I really started to like it. In fact it's probably one of my favourite films now.

HUGE fan now.
Me too! The first episode bored the crap out of me, but the guy who lent it to me somehow persuaded me to watch a few more episodes. So I did, and absolutely love it now. Fantastic series, shame it got axed.

Some of my favourite films only became so after a few viewings. these include:

An American Werewolf In London: First seen in South Africa (where I grew up) and it was cut to ribbons, thanks to stringent censorship laws

The Thing: John Carpenters classic claustrophobic horror still gets better with each viewing

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang: Shane Black's hugely underestimated and under-appreciated comedy/noir/thriller

S.F.W.: First time I saw this I was very stoned and I thought it was a riot but otherwise forgettable. After the second viewing a year or so later I was able to appreciate the subtlety of Stephen Dorff's performance.

There are loads more but that'll do for now.

American Beauty. Saw it a few years ago and thought is was poor. Saw it about a year ago and thought it was a masterpiece!
