Are you referring to the Argentinian/Dutch film, aka Tan De Repente? Apologies in advance if you've already got these but here are a few useful sites: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0324158/ http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/2703...denly/overview http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/revi...5BC0A9659C8B63 http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/1125073-suddenly/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tan_de_repente http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117918415?refcatid=31 http://www.pyramidefilms.com/pyramid...p?monFilm=193# Regards, Liz |

Hiya, currently working on my research project for my A level Film Studies coursework, and would really appreciate your comments regarding what strikes you most about the following clips...Don't worry about how they relate to each other or anything, just your honest opinons on the stylistics or narrative elements of the films. Thank you!

Hi,
as part of my university study into film history I am required to interview someone who can recall going to see movies prior to 1975. Is there anyone here over the age of 50 or so that remembers going to the movies prior to 1975, that would be willing to allow me to interview them (via email questions) regarding their experiences with cinema/film back then? Thanks, JH |

I am doing my media coursework on anti romcoms such as Up In The Air, (500) Days Of Summer and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. I am just wondering what everybody thinks about this new breed of genre and if they are taking over from the normal romcoms.

I don't think they are. Cheesy, fluffy stuff is still more prominent - plenty of people want escapism, not to be reminded of their own crappy situation.

I'm currently studying A2 film and as part of my coursework I need to investigate how animated films are creating a wider demographic.
Looking back at the likes of Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Antz up to Despicable Me - What is it about the way technology has advanced that means the age group of audiences has changed? I'm in need of some opinions! As there are many, many adults who like and watch these types of films... Is it the narrative that we find appealing? How clever the animation is? The actors who star in them? The reality of it all? Any help would be much appreciated ![]() Last edited by Kiba.; 30-09-2011 at 05:20 PM. |

In one word: Pixar. Some of the other computer animated films have been alright (I enjoyed Shrek 1 and 2 when they were new, and more recently Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). Most of the other ones are not very good... I couldn't make it through more than half of Despicable Me.
Pixar has it all: they're original, funny, clever entertainment that everyone can appreciate and enjoy. Every movie utilizes computer animators who are the best at what they do and the constant advances in this relatively young filmmaking technology make every movie look better than the one before it. Like most, I found Cars and Cars 2 to be the exceptions to most of the above ![]() I've been rediscovering these movies since getting my blu ray player and a high def TV. Computer animated movies are one of the best ways to show off your new digital entertainment set-up. I watched Legend of the Guardians in awe of the look of it without caring what was happening in the story for more than 2 minutes at a time. Anyway, I could talk for a long time about why I like these movies, hope that gives you a bit of insight into the subject. -Malone (28 yrs old) |
