Battle LA is entertaining, just exhausting, does exactly what it says on the tin. Drive Angry is only worth seeing for William Fichtner so my work colleague tells me.

I have a strong urge to watch 'I Am Number Four', I can't explain it. Must be Alex Prettyfer....

Saw Drive Angry. It's not bad. Like an episode of Supernatural written and directed by Tarantino. William Fichtner is great and Nicolas Cage has more bad hair. Very over the top violence with hands and legs getting shot off within the first few minutes. Don't expect to have to think too much.2.5/5

Is the new Tron movie worth buying (£11) or should I wait till it's on tv? All the cheap films in Morrisons look a bit pants. Jonah Hex, The Hole and Scott Pilgrim. They have The Collector for £6 though.

Has anyone seen or even heard of a British thriller called The Hide? I recorded it on Film4 last night and not sure if it's worth a watch. A thriller about birdwatching.

I scoped its rating on IMDb (6.2 out of 10). It sounds possibly, interesting but one you'd have to be patient with. The most recent review says it's too long. As it's only 82 mins to begin with, that doesn't sound edge of the seat material.
I think Slaughter would be more to your taste.

I ended up watching it and could tell from the first few minutes that it was originally a stage play. It was surprisingly decent and the two actors put in a good turn and manage to remain believable even with the revelations of the second half. The birdwatcher guy is a bit of a stereotype but that really added to my overall enjoyment as he spouted tales of power tools and sleeping under his model railway when his relationship with his wife went off the rails. It was a good way to spend a couple of hours.

I was gonna record The Hide Jeff, but forgot. Think I'll look out for it next time it's on.

I've ticked off a few of my original list and added some more which I'd value you opinions on guys.

The Orphanage... involving ghost story - very good
Tsotsi... fresh and vibrant and genuinely moving. Reminiscent of City Of God.
K19: The Widowmaker... Incredible story of courage and bravery. Excellent film well worth watching.
Garden State... Enjoyed this - the bullet wounds have healed
The Sting... Cracking yarn. Took mozzie's advice and watched alone. The furball was right - wouldn't have been Mrs Fett's cuppa.
Sweeney Todd
The Great Raid
The Good German
Jarhead
The Warlords
Onegin
Ray
The Ploughman's Lunch
Glory
Mirrors
Freeze Frame
The Loved Ones
The Dreamers
Kontroll
Battle Royale

As always your views and opinions are much appreciated

The original version of Mirrors is a pretty good horror, but don't waste your time with the American remake.

The Loved Ones is a superior slice of horror hokum and well worth your time if you're looking for something nastier than the tame teeny-ticklers clogging up cinemas.

Battle Royale is an incredible film and a must-see, in my opinion. Note: avoid the sequel at all costs!

Kontroll is a little gem of a movie that deserves to be better known.
