Kevin Spacey was so young.
Can't complain about the picture, it's top-knotch, but did anyone else not find the soundtrack to be way too loud on the Blu=Ray? Se7en has quite a dramitic booming score, and it often made the dialoge incredibly hard to hear. Its not a something i'd noticed on the DVD edition, and though it could be an issue with my hardware, its not one that i've encountered before.

Cant say that I noticed it myself. But Ive been doing a lot of playing around with my kits settings lately to get it as I want it so that may have some bearing.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

This has a beautiful crisp transfer, powerful sound and the film is good too, a vast improvement on the bloated and boring second installment. Recommended to those with kids or as a family adventure movie.

Picked up Monsters Vs. Aliens today and it looks absolutely stunning. Easily up there with Pixars best.

Watching Inception in HD. It looks and sounds fantastic. The soundtrack is exceptional.

I think animation shows what blu-ray is capable of. I have Planet 51, Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and Monsters V Aliens all of which are top quality in the picture department.
Cars, which I've got on both DVD and Blueray, is night and day different, it's like they remade the film with extra added bits, right from the start when you can see objects reflected in the paint work all the way to the massive crowd Mexican wave.

I can't believe nobody's talking about criterion blu rays on this thread. They do the best transfers of old movies (and new). In my collection is The Third Man, Days of Heaven, America Lost and Found: The BBS Story , Paths of Glory, The Killing, The Thin Red Line, Revanche, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Speaking of Fincher, Zodiac and the Social Network look pretty awesome on Blu ray as well.

They're also region locked and won't play without a multi region/hacked player. I'm using a PS3 and can't play them. I did have quite a few Criterion laserdiscs back in the day though and they were the best of the best.

Most of the note worth releases have already been mentioned, but I'll try and throw in a few other options:

Casino
Back to the Future
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Kick-Ass

Just bought my first blu ray player . With The Fly and hangover 2. Folk tell me i'll replace all my dvds. I don't think I will. I own the fly but managed to pick it up for 5 quid in asda someone had stuck wrong sticker on it. I'm really impressed with the hd transfer. You would have thought it was filmed this year.
