Avatar - 3 disc edition

20 months after the film first got released in the cinema, I finally get round to watching it .

Kentucky Fried Movie - Special Edition

I love John Landis films, and I loved the earlier ZAZ films, so this was a must for me .

It's also another impressive DVD release by Arrow Video. I definately need to get more of their releases (currently I only own this and Silent Night, Deadly Night)

What did you think of Avatar? What's different about the 3 disc special edition? The last time I saw it was the original theatrical run and I'm thinking about buying it again to re-scrutinise it.

I found it dissappointing. Digitally creating Pandora and the Na'vi was a waste of money in my opinion. Very few of the scenes generally looked spectacular, most of the time it just looked like a glorified FMV sequence for a Playstation/Xbox game.

The story was average at best.

I find it hilarious how much money it made (and that they're making another 2 films aswell ) (James Cameron seems to all of a sudden gone from a good action director to a "dollar signs in his eyes" George Lucas clone)

Anyway, enough complaining .

The 3 disc edition has on 2 discs (you have to switch discs half way through any version of the film, which I find annoying), the original version of the film, the cash-in extended version from last summer, and an extended cut of last summer's version. You also get an additional disc of extra features.

This Is England 86. £5. A bargain I think.
Really looking forward to this. I shall review later.
