Default Movie Misconceptions

So, with another Bond movie comes the usual brood of impossibly beautiful women who seems to think that they now have a career in movies, regardless of all evidence to the contrary in the past. Halle Berry doesn't count, although, her career has hit the skids to such an extent that she designs shoes for some unpronounceable shoe company, and the last one to get anything resembling a media profile was in some middle class sitcom with a McGann in the 80's.

Another misconception is that any British movie is going to do a Four Wedding / Trainspotting.

Lol, she doesn't even design the shoes, she advertises them. And Deichman's is so low rent, its like Foot Locker!

I disagree though, Eva Green has had a pretty good career post Bond.

Other movie misconceptions....hmm. Following the massive flop that was John Carter, are we labouring under the misapprehension that just because Disney has thrown millions at it it will be financially successful?

I think it was the name 'John Carter'. What a stupendously dull name for what is supposedly an action film.
Why not Carter: The Unstoppable Hex Machine? or John Carnage?

Jon Carnage sounds like a spandex wearing wrestler!

Can't remember if it was Total Film (or somewhere else, could check but can't be arsed tbh) that had an article about the failure of movies set on Mars?

How about the widely held misconception that the sun shines out of George Lucas's arse.

I think that misconception's been steadily killed over the last four years...

How 'bout the one where Sam Worthington WILL have a career because dang it, we need a new Keanu Reeves?

There's the misconception that Megan Fox is an actress. Or human.

Famke Jansen hasn't exactly disappeared from the public eye, neither have Kim Basinger, Gemma Arterton or Teri Hatcher.

I tend to enjoy Sam Worthington movies while they're happening and then forget them completely the moment I leave the cinema.

Movie misconception: That you can use special effects to hide plot holes.
