I don't know. I haven't read it yet, just flicked through it to stare at the pics. It's an absolutely beautiful book. The scans don't do it justice. When I saw it half price at amazon, couldn't resist it.

See i enjoyed it although my initial reaction was dissapointment. I pondered and argued with the missus and pondered a little more. I then looked at the film and severed any expectations related to this sequeing into Alien nice and neatly and tying everthing up with a nice neat bow.

I was under the impression that the buff dude at the start and the ' engineer' dude awoken by David were two different races. The Dr Manhattan lookalike who seeded earth was from some benevolent offshoot and the head ripping guy at the end was some how merged with the black ooze. To me it was clear that his body was melded with that skeletal alien skin stuff and it wasnt some kind of suit he was wearing.

I may be way off base with that assumption but to me it made sense. Yeah it asked questions which it never intended to answer, no doubt left to tempt the possibility of a sequel but it was far more interesting than the majority of summer tent pole movies of recent times. Flawed yes no doubt and weighed with feverishly high expectations but I cant help but be disappointed with the negative reactions I'm seeing.
