Default Are pre-film things really necessary?

I find some Blu-ray discs, especially those from UNIVERSAL, quite annoying due to the number of things (text screens and logos etc) which have to be navigated before the film menu itself appears.

Why not simply have these on a seperate information sub-menu which we can look at if desired?

I watch Blu-rays on my PS3 and for many of them, I just put in the disc and the film resumes from the point it was left last time. Unfortunately, due to all the pre-film stuff, this is never possible with the UNIVERSAL titles!

It's all advertising mate, they've got to get it out there somewhere so they may as well fill it up at the front so that you can at least fast forward through it
