Good point Mr Biscuits, we need more extreme satire. With Robocop we have corporate, social and economical, Hobo we have perception of the poor and homeless as well as apathy.
We need more of these, more I say!

Great film about a skeleton staff running a supposedly haunted hotel in it's last couple of days before closure. It's definitely my favourite horror film this year and one of my favourite films overall. There's not a lot of scares in the first hour but the atmosphere is great and the two leads are likeable enough to carry the film through quieter points. Kelly McGillis offers good support as a psychic staying at the hotel. The final scenes up the fear levels to masterful levels.
It's really good.
4.5/5

Killer Elite

Statham and De Niro were ok but the rest of the cast are awful and the film got really boring by the time it was half way through.

I've read some awful reviews of that film, Jaykay. Don't think I'll even waste my time with it.

Thought Killer Elite was a cracking film, lots of twists and turns in the storyline.

Also watched Safe, again, with The Statham, and again, that's a cracking film.

Was due to go and see Expendables 2 later but we've all decided to enjoy some cold drinks instead

I have also just watched The Raid, blimey is the rating I will give that.

Thumbs up

Watched 'World's Greatest Dad' last night and wow... I was not expecting it to be like that
I literally knew nothing aboutt he film before I watched it apart from the fact Robin Williams was in it, but I really, really enjoyed it. I felt the concept impanted in the film was was really original and just plain interesting. Sure, the second act does a little too much with too little but theres way more good than bad, so it balances out really well.

I'd definately recommend watching it, and if you do, try to avoid reading up too much about it beforehand.

I'm watching The Killing tv series (original danish version) Episode 13 is next.
Interesting review imo by someone who mentioned that after 12 episodes there is only one killing, and not a whiff of sexual chemistry between the Sarah Lund character and her male cop partner/ Yet it's utterly compelling. I couldn't agree more.
moviewise. The last one i watched was City of industry. It had a good cast, but dialogue that for the most part was perfunctry, with one or two good lines, and I mean one or two.

21 Jump Street

Very funny and the two leading men worked well together, for once Jonah Hill didn't annoy me.

My only gripe is Ice Cube, why the hell is this man in films? He can't act and it wasn't that long ago that him and his posse were rapping about hating white people and popping caps in asses.
