okay..first i thought it was a joke when words got out that Tom Cruise's remaking The Magnificent 7 (itself a remake of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai)...but, now it think i'm all for this project..and i'm curious as to who'd be today's Mag 7, in addition to Tom Cruise...
i myself have two sets of lineup i'd wanna see.. here's the original cast: - Yul Brynner as Chris Adams - Steve McQueen as Vin (Chris's pal) - Horst Buchholz as Chico (the young hot shot) - Charles Bronson as Bernardo O'Reilly (the quiet and brooding type) - James Coburn as Britt (the knife thrower) - Robert Vaughn as Lee(the dapper man on the run) - Brad Dexter as Harry Luck (the seventh guy) - Rosenda Monteros as Petra (the village babe and Chico's love interest) and - Eli Wallach as Calvera (the villain) first, a lineup consisting of Cruise and his past co-stars: - Tom Cruise as Chris Adams - Matthew McConaughey (from Tropic Thunder) as Vin - Diego Boneta (from Rock of Ages) as Chico - Ving Rhames (from the first two Mission: Impossible) as Bernardo - Colin Farrell (from Minority Report) as Britt - Simon Pegg (from the last two Mission: Impossible) as Lee - Kurt Russell (from Vanilla Sky) as Harry Luck, the seventh guy and the group's mentor - Paz Vega as Petra (this time, though, she'll be the love interest of both Chris and Vin, instead of Chico) and - Demian Bichir (never starred with Cruise, but got a surprised Oscar nod for last year's A Better Life) as Calvera second, it's an all-SUPER star lineup: - Johnny Depp as Chris Adams - Jamie Foxx as Vin - Jake Gyllenhaal as Chico - Tom Cruise as Britt - Javier Bardem as Bernardo - Robert Downey, Jr. as Lee - Kevin Costner as Harry Luck - Salma Hayek as Petra (the woman between Chris and BRITT) and - Demian Bichir as Calvera and - Brad Pitt as Calvera's hired gun (a new role) ...now, which lineup do you guys prefer for the remake..?? according to the latest rumors, though..both Kevin Costner and Matt Damon have been mentioned to join this remake. personally, i'd like to see the all-super star lineup myself, but, it's a very long shot that all those guys wanna join Tom in "supporting" capacity. UNLESS, they all see Tom as their generation's Sylvester Stallone. Last edited by Kiba.; 05-09-2012 at 09:16 PM. Reason: no caps in title |
