I really like this film but some parts are too arty for me. Tom Hardy is superb as Bronson.

I liked it. Nowhere near as violent as I was led to believe and I thought it tried to cram too much into too short a film. Tom Hardy was exceptional though as you say. I actually watched it with Chopper and it was interesting to see how similar the two were in some aspects. Good viewing.

Just got The Deer Hunter and Fight Club for a fiver. A strange combination, but they're both funking brilliant.

Smile The Loved Ones

I bought The Loved Ones the other day,

Its about a High School Prom movie but then which turns into a Misery-esque horror.

Really cool movie! definitely recommend it.

So much more gruesome then I was expecting.

Default Source Code

I don't really like to pay full price for DVDs anymore, unless it's for a film unreleased on Blu Ray that I really want in my collection. Instead I just buy from HMV's second hand section (I hate to buy Blu Ray's on a whim that turn out to be terrible. I made this mistake when I bought Fast 5)

I don't understand why people buy terrible films, knowing they are terrible just to add to their own collection - still, each to their own.

Last DVD I bought? Source Code. I liked it a lot but it could have been better. I'd like to see a darker look at the same story.

That is a really good analysis of Source Code actually, when i watched it I just didn't think it was particularly good. It wasn't bad just, as you say, not really fulfilling its full potential. Which in some ways is worst then just a rubbish film.

I have to admit that towards the end I was expecting a lot more. It's the ending for me that let it down. I don't want to go into detail in case people haven't seen it but I'm sure you get what I mean.

I got a few more today, Unstoppable (pre-owned), Wolverine (pre-owned) and Alien (new). I have a tendency to watch films after everyone else has already seen them, it's not necessarily on purpose... I just never have the time. I thought I might as well re-watch Alien before I see Prometheus.

I might suggest not watching Alien before Prometheus actually, either that or maybe I ended up missing out a lot of references.

I think Alien is going to be my halloween movie!

you know I need to buy the Alien boxset, Alien Resurrection i haven't seen in ages. weirdly on IMDB this has a John Whedon writing credit. learn something new everyday!

Joss Whedon did script doctoring on a lot of films that you wouldn't think.
