As a fan of lee Childs books I was as unimpressed as everyone else when Tom Cruise was cast as Reacher.
It is with great pleasure then that I can report that fears were unfounded and Cruise brings the pain, and the charm, as the character requires. The film is refreshingly old school, favouring character, story and smart dialogue over endless CGI cartoons, without skimping on thrills - props to Cruise for clearly doing some of his own stunt driving during a corking car chase. Supporting cast are uniformly excellent and the action is clean and clear. Top stuff. Two thumbs up. |

I am unimpressed with Tom Cruise's box office mistletoe. It was just an above average thriller for me. You can figure out whats happening over there without much calculations. Its all before you. l Haven t read any Lee Child novel yet, so not interested in making any conclusion regarding the quality of character adaptation.
However I loved the bgm, the bar fight, the COD styled climax, one liners & of course Mr. Cruise ![]() All together a one time watch !!

Entertaining at times and Cruise was pretty watchable but felt it dragged on a bit.

Pretty forgettable, and about forty minutes too long. Never read any of the novels, so had no preconceptions in that respect. Yeah, there were some good scenes (the one outside the bar and the finale, primarily), but the whole thing was just a bit "meh".
