So HMV is finally gone, Blockbuster is gone and so is Jessops (but they were shit anyway). Any guesses as to what's next?
Do you think we'll have a high street by the end of the decade? I predict the High Street will subsist of Starbucks (they're safe because they pay no tax), mobile phone shops and takeaway outlets. How exciting for us. |

Not much sympathy here for HMV as they have always ripped the public off. When Blu-rays first came out they were changing £25 a film.

Oh I totally agree; they've brought this on themselves by being greedy bastards and not moving with the times. Same goes for Blockbuster.
I was pondering aloud whether we'll have much of a selection of shops on the high street the way things are going. I do like the convenience of Amazon and use it as much as anyone. I just feel that we'll soon be left with nothing else. I miss the days of the independent record store, records, second hand bookshops and the like. You see why I posted on the Oldies thread. ![]() |
