Despite having read this, it still pulled me out of the film. All this controversy over the scenes of torture, and no one warns you about a random barrowman appearance. Shocked i was.

Wild Bill

Can't put my finger on just what made me enjoy this film but enjoy it I did

On paper it's terrible, and if you we're to describe it to someone it would read like a feature length episode of Eastenders lol. You know the drill, cockney "geezers" acting all hard, depressing surrounding, everyone afraid of everyone else etc.

But it's worth it all for the pub scenes, absolutely genius bit of the story there

Not specifically for the younger audience, but as close a film that I could call a film about me growing up as I've seen, and perhaps that's why I enjoyed it so much.

4 stars.

Default This is 40

Director: Judd Apatow
Starring: Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Chris O'Dowd, Megan Fox

Review: Despite containing more than a few hilarious moments, this was a rambling, unfocused movie that ran about 40 minutes too long and featured some distinctly unlikeable main characters. Paul Rudd was his usual watchable self, and both Chris O’Dowd and Jason Segel did great work with what they were given, but I can’t help but think that this would have worked better if Apatow had stuck to writing and let somebody else direct it. As it stands, there were far too many pointless, self-indulgent scenes inserted seemingly at random, leading to a 134-minute running time that frankly, made the movie drag. Also, if you're planning on spending so much time focusing on the 'drama' rather than the 'comedy', then at least make some effort to make the protagonists the slightest bit likeable. As it is, there was zero investment in seeing the two main characters 'make it'.

Rating: 6/10.

The girl next door went to watch this the other day and said it was dire that she didn't even remember the name of the film when she came out of the cinema.

She's only 17 though so I was potentially going to see it this week with the mrs thinking it would be something enjoyable if youngsters didn't get it. Maybe not now.

Carrying on...

The Vow.

I would have let her fail and then come crawling back, what a bitch!!!

Anyway, for what is supposed to be some sort of romantic comedy type serious thing, this just felt like a made for tv special for Christmas where everyone lives happily ever after, but no, I had to sit through this bilge thinking to myself "man up and move on, she's never going to regain her memory and deserves everything she's got coming to her".

There were one or two twists which I didn't expect as they were just SO obvious, but I feel that Channing is best left doing action roles. As good as he was in this as a grown up actor, there was something missing (other than the film having a point).

2/10

Wreck-it Ralph

One of the worst animated films I have seen in a long while. I found it boring and even nodded off half way through. Best bits are in the trailer. It is obviously aimed at the under 6's but none of them will know who the game characters are?

Nightmare on Fail Street
just as shite as everyone said but I still felt the need to see for myself. It had no atmosphere, it tried but didn't work and some of the things that happened to people without them waking up were pretty stupid.

Aww I really enjoyed it, I'd love to play the candy game. I doubt it will but hope it beats Brave at the Oscars as it was much better.

I think it was too girly, I went in wanting to enjoy it but it just wasn't for me. Shame really as I do generally love animation films. I quite liked Brave, mostly because of Billy Connely's voice and I was mesmerised by her mop of life like hair.

Battleship. Can't see what all the fuss was about, it's a great film that we all enjoyed even though it doesn't make an sense and it has plot holes the size of elephants running all the way through it.

I loved the way they used all the different characters to show strengths and weaknesses of their roles, and the kids loved the way the aliens were the same as us but differerent enough to be different to us even though they were from the same planet.

10 out of 10 and I would have not been disappointed if I'd spent this sort of money at the cinema.

For everyone who slated this film, I think you've missed the point. A film about aliens should never make sense when it's aimed at little kids who just want to see lots of aliens and soldiers blown stuff up.

If they had toned down the language I think they could have even made it to the PG rating.
