I know the feeling. I came back from London late last night, so the first thing after powering up my computer at work this morning was to get myself a double ristretto to unzombiefy. Should senior management ever decide to get rid of the Italian capsule system that shall not be named, marketing & sales wouldn't last a day. I drink ungodly amounts of green tea the rest of the day though.

Dare to think for yourself, see how exhausting that is and then leave it up to us to free you of that burden.....

They are downright creepy. It's actually kind of fascinating how the pick out the people they talk to on the street (I used to work around the corner of their local HQ), it's like watching a vulture circle above a field...
A co-worker almost got roped in by them a few years ago. They gave her a nice long questionaire (multiple choice) to complete within the day and then come back to them. At first she thought she was attending a seminar, but fortunately she talked about it at lunch and our mental alarm bells went off immediately. We went through the papers with her and explained how every single possible answer would require further 'seminars' and that it was definitely Scientology - which she hadn't had noticed yet. Their MO was pretty clever actually. She was out about €400,- already but it could have been a lot worse. |

So.. Oscars tonight then eh.
Not going to be thrilled at the inevitable Hathaway win. Why she is perceived to be a lock for the supporting actress award is lost on me. She was fine in Les Mis, but that was it, fine. Just me?

Not just you, Welchy. There's a feeling of entitlement about Hathaway's Oscar that grates. I'd love to have seen her face if they read out another name by 'accident', but alas.
The Oscars is something I only watch the highlights of, feels like it's more up its own arse each year. With unfunny childish twattery like the We saw your boobs song (is this high school? ) by dicks like Seth McFarlane hosting, is it any wonder that more and more stars are starting to prefer the BAFTAs as a decent night out. |

Hathaways's acceptance speeches are awful (let's not even talk about the Hollywood Reporter nominees round table). Even when she starts out fine, you can be sure there will be something coming out of her mouth within the next 30 seconds that makes me want to hit my head against the next flat surface.
And what the frak was that dress? The one she wore at the BAFTAs was great, but whoever thought that pink straight out of the 90s mess was a good idea for the Oscars should be punished by listening to Hathaway talk about herself for at least 2 hours. I still watch the Oscars live every year though. There's a bunch of us crazies snarking and betting through the entire thing together (we started a private Facebook-group a few years ago so everyone can stay in their PJs now ) which is usually more fun than all jokes in the ceremony combined. |

The facebook group sounds like a fun way to diss the Oscars. For all those people who don't know their your from you're, or their from there. ![]() If you can't be bothered using the right one, you drive me nuts and I hope you stand on lots of LEGO blocks in your bare feet. |
