Default Star Wars: Episode VII - What do YOU want to see?

Hi gang,

Matt here, the Online Editor for TF.

We're cobbling together a snazzy new feature based on YOUR opinions, and so I'm asking the question:

What do YOU want to see from Star Wars: Episode VII? From characters to actors, plots to scores and special effects, tell us and we could use your suggestion in a new online feature!

You can jot down your ideas below here, or add to the healthy conversation on FB here (which also has some snazzy fan art to go with it): https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...7067213&type=1

Thanks all!

Probably not, Disney will destroy this once-destroyed-by-its-creator-saga.

They can't do it much more disservice than Lucas already did.

I don't see the need for more Ewoks.
This question took over two weeks to get a single reply, that says how much everyone cares.

I would like to see DISNEY take STAR WARS back to its roots and make more films like the Original Trilogy, before they were filled with kiddie-friendly nonsensical characters (a certain Mr Binks) and LUCAS became a true slave to CGI by demanding something in virtually every shot he filmed.

Although some would argue that the Ewoks began the slide, at least they did more than pull faces and fall over, plus had a plausible dialect which, for me at least, the Gungans failed at all levels.

If meddled with incorrectly, new STAR WARS films could be a disaster but in the right hands will hopefully restore the glory the franchise once enjoyed!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but it aint gonna happen. The appeal of the original Star Wars trilogy was that it was naive and earnest, innocent in its way and it took a fresh approach to an age old theme: Good vs Evil. Then the gap between the next part of the saga was too long and spoiled with studio and fandom expectations, flakey ideas and far too much fuckery and weak characters no one cared about. Once you get past the voluminous FX and the fights, they are poor films. That effectively buried it.

We're in a different time now. The first Star Wars trilogy was hailed as being ahead of its time and in some ways it was; but it was also very much a product of its time. The freshness, the purity of the belief its makers had in it, the hands-on touches. That naivete can never be recaptured and it's a mistake to try. The combination of things that made it work no longer exist.
It should be let go like a terminally ill patient stuck on life support with no hope of recovery. BUT, there's more money to be milked so on we go with the soulless enterprise of resurrecting a dead franchise.

Gotta agree with Morris, we're no longer in a time where models and real sets have a place in sci-fi films. Won't stop my wishful thinking though! That said, I would love to see some Chewie sub-plots! That furball needs his own narrative. Either that or Ewoks with lightsabres but I might regret saying that if I saw it.
