Trying to watch Tree Of Life, but I'm too stupid or this movie is too boring.

For the hell of it I recorded The Lost Boys off telly and watching it now while surfing. omg the Mullets are ARSEome! I've never seen so much frosted permed hair. It's outstanding and there's this scene where they're watching some dude, clearly meant to be hard and macho, dancing around in tight spandex with his magnificent mullet, chains around his neck and his big buff oiled chest. Straight guys in audience grooving away to it like it's not the gayest thing ever. hahaha

What's upsetting is I actually lived through the time when that was the norm. Not so much the oiled guys in spandex but certainly the hair and the bad fashion. It's weird to see Keifer looking so fresh faced, but still reassuringly sleazy.

Scratch what I said earlier, it's unashamedly cheesy and this is its strength. I seem to recall the vampires were actually considered menacing at the time. The soundtrack is fun and has aged surprisingly well.

Ah. The greased up saxophone guy. I am watching Death To Smoochy. It's awful. Got a few DVDs I've not watched. Think I'll look out one of tem instead.

Smoochy is terrible, absolutely dire. Before I saw that, I thought Edward Norton a decent actor. It put me off him for life.

Martyrs. I saw it ages ago of course but as it was on horror channel thought I'd give it a second go. Still disturbing and uneasy viewing.

+Armageddon is a very very silly movie

I just saw the final scene of Rocky while switching channels. The overbearing music dates it badly. I never fully understood why it's considered a classic but it definitely belongs to a more idealistic time.

Right now I'm about 2/3rds the way through Ill Manors.

I was hoping it would be good, but it's fairly shite. I was hoping that it would be another film along the lines of kidulthood or Adulthood, hell, even Anavahood, but it's far from that. It's even grittier than Harry Brown, but it's a bit TOO harsh, a bit TOO gritty, a bit TOO over the top in it's "realism".

And I should know, I've been in some of the situations shown in the film in the dim and distant past.

The music is great though
