Michael Fassbender-why the fuss

As far as I'm concerned, Fassbender has a broad range and can be such an intense actor to watch. Yet, he maintains a coolness about him at times, which is why he is tipped to be the next Bond. To see just how good he can be, watch Hunger, but I reckon Shame might be his defining role (although I haven't seen it yet)

I like "The Fass" I think he has charisma, screen prescence and charm. Also, as anyone who has seen Hunger will testify, the man can act his socks off. I'm a fan.

I agree with the dude. I was swaying in the direction of liking him, but seeing him in Shame (fearless and raw) and Prometheus (some say his viral was the best part of the film that wasn't in the film) I consider myself a fan. His accent does slip at times, in some roles, but if that's the worst thing you can say it's not much to gripe about really.

Was watching a bit of X Men First Class last night and his accent was all over the place. Don't mind him as an actor though.

I remember it was. He was a good pick for Magneto, given his German heritage. I think David in Prometheus is his smoothest accent without any noticable wobble.

I'd argue that's because David as a character is not meant to visibly express much emotion. Fassbender's accent tends to slip in more verbally expressive scenarios.

Could be. also his David accent is very clipped, and basing it on O'Toole provided a good blueprint.

I thought he was great in Prometheus. Compared to Noomi Rapace attempting an English* accent I didnt really notice.

*Why couldn't she just be Swedish, I'm fairly certain they have them in Sweden. Why couldn't the (neo)Geologist find his way out of a cave mapped with his mapping probs? Why did the Biologist show now concern when faced with an Alien snake penis thing?
