Trees
A truly dire parody of Jaws except this time an evil tree is killing off frisky campers in the height of the Summer camping season. The three leads are replaced with a forest ranger, a botanist and a grizzled lumberjack called Squint. The acting is of a Troll 2 standard and at the start of the film there's actually a disclaimer letting us know that this is an homage to Jaws and Spielberg.
The films one saving grace is that some of the lines (almost directly lifted from Jaws) are actually quite funny.

"That's the thing about trees... they're silent like the night! They don't make a noise... they just stand there."
"Everyone out of the woods!"
"This was no lawnmower accident!"
"We tell them there's a killer tree on the loose, and you've got pandemonium on Memorial Day!"
"Jim, if you open up those campgrounds on Memorial Day, well, it's like opening up a buffet, for chrissakes!"
"You're gonna need a bigger axe."
In different hands, this could have been a really funny parody, but as it is, feels like it was written by a ten year old.1/5

really.? I think she's scary more than hot.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
It took three nights of watching for me and Mrs Cat to work our way through this, taped off Sky. I could not have sat through it in one session in the cinema, my back wouldn't have handled it. It was a nice film, beautiful cinematography but dang it was so long. I couldn't understand a word Cate Blanchett said in her old lady voice. The end was sad but I was kinda relieved it did end. Fincher is more effective with medium length films I think. 3 ***

Watched Unknown with liam Neeson. Quality twist in this film. The storyline was good and the action was pretty much non stop all way through. Def worth checking out.

Hall Pass

Passable comedy, with a few decent gags. Some gratuitous nudity of both the male and female variety, and some gross out stuff if that appeals to you.

The Lincoln Lawyer

Future Oscar winner he may be not, but this is the kind of material that Matthew McConaughey is great in (see A Time to Kill). Efficient, enjoyable court room, lawyer, crime drama adapted from a Michael Connelly novel. Twists and turns keep you wondering how things are going to turn out, but the last 15 minutes weren't as good as the rest as they rushed to thrown in some last minute action and finish the story off. I never see it as a good sign when i think the films ending and go to get my things together only to have to have them cut to another scene.

PAUL
I was going into this movie with medium expectations. It had an average trailer, and was getting average reviews, despite its highly above average cast. I can definitely say I was highly surprised. It was the funniest movie I have seen in some time. It was quite original, did a lot of interesting stuff, and overall just an extremely enjoyable film. While it does fall short of the previous Pegg and Frost combos(Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead), it does not fall nearly as short as you would expect, considering the serious lack of Edgar Wright. While Greg Mottola does not necessarily bring the same expertise to the table as supergenius Edgar Wright, he serves as a great director of an enjoyable, silly movie with a crude but sweet alien, and an all-star cast. With one monster action scene, a good car chase, and a touch of alien butt, Paul is definitely worth seeing. 10/10!

The Adjustment Bureau

Completely full of holes (if they can do X, why can't they do Y?) and was left wondering why none of the bureau workers were women (obviously not an equal opportunity employer). However, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt have enough charm to make it an interesting enough watch.
