I didn't think this was as bad as some reviews said. It lifts noticeably from films like Frantic, The Manchurian Candidate even bloody Total Recall but the twists kept coming and Liam Neeson kept shouting and despite seeing nothing new I was on the edge of my seat for most of the film. It's not fresh or inventive but it's shadowy and tense and twisting and the ideas it nicks are used to good effect.2.5/5

Burke & Hare:
Good stuff with Pegg reigning in some of his usual Pegg-isms and showing a bit of range. Good to see Landis behind the scenes again too...

The A-Team.
Good fun on a Sunday. Mindless with lots of double crossing characters. Story was lot deeper than it had any right to be and the flying tank is one of the best set pieces in a long time. Some of the CGI spoiled it as it does any action film these days where the characters are live action and supposedly in danger.

Yogi Bear:
Yogi Wank.

Clash of the Titans:
Not sure I've just seen the same film that was slated when it was released. Sure, Sam Worthington was as charismatic and watchable as stale bread, but the SFX were impressive and some of the action was hugely enjoyable with some fantastic character design. And the sound booming from my speakers really added to the experience. Another Lazy Sunday classic.

Fathers of Girls

My wifes choice on pay per view last night, I am now starting divorce proceedings on the grounds of wasting £3.99 Ray Winston plays a dad who's daughter is found dead from taking drugs and thats about it. It lasted 1 hour and 9 minutes and that was the best bit, that it didn't last too long.

Written and directed by Karl Howman of Brush Strokes fame and starring alongside Ray was his lesser known daughter and Glen Murphy from Londons Burning.

Bad script
Bad acting
Bad direction
Poor sound quality
No story
Bored me to tears

One of the worst films I have ever seen.

Hot Tub Time Machine

This was pretty bad, watched it just cos it was on Sky. It did however have one great line: "What colour is Michael Jackson?" I also liked "I can see the 90s!"

Vacancy
This is actually not too bad. It's tense and quite relentless and very well shot. In plot and direction it's quite like a Hitchcock film. Luke Wilson is alright and Kate Beckinsale is slightly less annoying than usual.

Midnight Cowboy

This is one of those classics I'd never caught up with, so recorded off Sky. It was great: good story, fine performances by Voight and Hoffman and looked of its time yet still fresh and involving. The chemistry between the two leads is something special, it carries the movie and you totally buy into their friendship, one of cinema's best 'bromances' before the term existed. I saw the end coming well in advance, but it was still sad. The theme song fits it to a T.

Default Sunshine Cleaning

Just watched Sunshine Cleaning. Quirky little indie with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt. In the same vein as Little Miss Sunshine - even had a yellow(ish) van and Alan Arkin! 3.5/5

Rec 2.
Really surprising. I thought the first was bland and over hyped. It was disjointed and a bit vague on the plot.
the sequal takes all this on board and is far better for it. the backstory is explained in greater detail and the action is plausable and not over the top. It has the same hand held camera work but this time it makes good use of it. It looks at times like a FPS computer game. I enjoyed it a lot and it gets a solid 3.5/5 from me.
