Macbeth with Sam Worthington. What the fuck? I thought that nothing could be worse than listening to American accents doing Shakespeare, but listening to Macbeth perform the 'Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow' soliloquy in a broad Aussie accent, was just laughable. Truly excruciating.

Watched Moon the other day, having put it off for ages - I didn't think it would be my cup of tea.
Bloody excellent film - not what I was expecting at all. Really original, atmospheric and cool. And Sam Rockwell was ace (but then he usually is). In fact, I felt a bit silly for not watching it sooner and then I could have avoided the "I told you so" grumblings from the other end of the sofa... 4/5 |

I watched it on pay per view a little while ago and found it really boring and couldn't see what all the fuss was about.

I know what you mean, I did it with Atonement, I thought it looked like a pile of shite and then one night It was on Sky movies and I had nothing better to do but watch it, glad I did as I loved it.

Io Non Ho Paura (I'm Not Scared) - a great adaptation of a great book. More heartbreaking than the book if that's physically possible. 8/10

Moon. Ok. Well its not a BAD film but I don't think its as good as is made out. For me the "star" of the film were the sets and lovely clean photography. It really put over the feel of being on an isolated space station. Very atmospheric. As said by almost everyone Sam Rockwell is very very good pulling off what is basically a one man show with style and competance.
What lets the film down ( in my mind) is a slightly padded and sluggish final act. I can't put my finger on it but it just seems to lack the flair of the first half of the movie. I did enjoy it but it's perhaps not the classic its made out to be. 3.5/5

I know what you mean Ancient. You've summed up how I felt about the film exactly.

I did a similar thing with that film. Put off watching it for ages, then when I did watch, thought it was a great movie. I've seen it many times since, and it just gets better in my opinion. The continuous edit on the beach still continues to stun, even after countless viewings.
