Which are your favourite actors/actresses who star in movies that are on the silver screen??
I personally like Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, Janet Leigh and Bette Davis.

James Cagney has always been my favourite, but I also admire Robert Mitchum, Gene Kelly, Robert Donat, and the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe.

A bit of Matt Damon I reckon, consistantly the best thing in whatever he is in, I think time will prove him a great actor, and a true screen legend.

Paul Bettany. He has been very good right from the start and has shown steady improvement. I've seen nearly all of his films and he always turns in a top notch performance no matter what the genre or role. He holds the screen like a magnet, often stealing scenes away from lead characters when in a support role, and his capabilities are not dependent on good looks (example his recent Oscar-snubbed role as Darwin in Creation). Bettany is maturing nicely as an actor and is always worth watching. I hope he continues to have a long and varied career.

Sean Penn would have to be somewhere at the top i think, but didn't enjoy his rain man stint in I Am Sam. Overall i think he's pretty consistent.

Current working actors, I'm very fond of Sam Rockwell. He has a good amount of variety in what I've seen and never fails to grab attention when onscreen, without being overtly grandstanding. And then of course there's Clint, but I suppose he falls into the same category as Nicholson. Last edited by Kiba.; 03-08-2010 at 04:41 PM. |

Funnily enough I was going to mention Legion in my post but then I thought- Nah, who'd be nit-picky enough to mention that one crap film when so much else is good, performances solid even when the film isn't ? Should've guessed. Pithy MrSilly.
I think the amount of depth shown in Creation makes up for the pap that is Legion. And if it doesn't? I'll still be a fan. ![]() |

After watching Iron Man 2 for the second time yesterday I have to say that Mickey Rourke has such a screen presence about him, he was always a very good actor and all that he has been through he hasn't lost it.
