Le Cercle Rouge has a DVD and Blu-Ray release and is also available as part of a Jean-Pierre Melville colelction. If you look on Amazon then there should be plentiful options, and the standard DVD is less than £7, if memory serves me correctly.

Default A challenge for the filmbuff

Im looking for a specific movie haunting me from my childhood, but can only remember bits and pieces. So please if you can, help me remember.

Clues:

-Its about a killer. A strangler with black gloves and he strangles women.

-He uses an abandoned school to have dinnerparties for children that dont exist. He has a ready table with plates, glasses of water and cutlery, but no children. He has a recordplayer that he switches on with a switch to hear children's voices in the empty room.

-The killer chases a woman in the end of the movie, but she has a gun so he hides under white sheets covering furniture in the abandoned school. She shoots wildly at all the sheets and suddenly blood comes out one of them.

-The movie is in color and probably from the 60's or 70's.

-I do not know if it is a cinema release or direct to TV release.

Kudos to the first person to figure this one out.
Thanks.

Default Old film description- Please try+help me?

Hi,
Yesterday my best friend's Dad was telling me about a film he loved when he was younger (although he didn't specify how young), he described it as a pilot of a plane was travelling so fast that his cockpit controls/dashboard would only work in a 'mirror image'/reverse way and that the pilot had to work out how to do this to successfully steer/land the plane.

This conversation took place while we were chatting about how Concorde would, apparently, gain length by 1 and a half inches when it was travelling at supersonic speed.
Edit- i have since checked this out and it appears that it increases/increased by 6 to 10 inches!!

Anyway, im trying to find out which film this is so i can buy it for him!
Please can anyone help me with this extremely vague description?

Thank you in advance.

Default 2 missing movies shown on BBC circa 90 - 2000s

Hi i have searched for years for two films - one is definitely French and the other possibly french or spanish.
1 - a beautiful young woman (possibly model/dancer/artist) moves into a back-street apartment - the only distinguishing thing in the film is that she is followed around by a big bloke who has learning difficulties who takes a shine to her. he hangs out at a tiny cheap back-street cafe.

2 - set in a gated courtyard complex of four apartments, about the four residents and how they help a young woman decide if she should take up the interest of a bloke who obtains work as a security guard at what looks like a cement works. one of residents is older bloke who looks like Phillipe Noiret, always wears cravat and insists he's former film producer or retired police chief. he's always flirting with other resident - wise older attractive spinster/widow.

i get feel this was shown around 1986 to early 2000s. thanks in advance if you can help me locate them.

I think it might be Marius et Jeannette (1997):

Less confident about this one... Could it be Un amour à Paris (1987):

There are some pictures of the actors on the French Premiere site:

Default Can not place this scene!

Hello,

I'm having trouble remembering where this scene comes from. I think it's a summer action film, possibly a disaster movie, but I can't be sure. What I remember is two guys driving into an area that the government has cordoned off. They want to keep people out of the area so they've put out a story in the news that there's a deadly chemical (or virus?) in the air that's killing all the cattle. When the two guys drive in, one of them takes off his gas mask and then tells the other one it's okay - there's no threat.

Does anyone know what movie this is from?

Thanks!

Sam

I am looking for the title of a film with the following qualities:

1. Released in the last 5 years (else I age much faster than I had hoped...)
2. An environmental disaster movie (I suspect...)
3. Ends with a large chasm splitting the US into two parts, and the president talking about how they will look after the environment more from now on.

A little vague, but I'm fairly sure the points are correct and this is really bugging me.
