Default Which actors and/or Directors would you love to see working together?

Or maybe even Writers and Directors? List your dream teams...

Nicolas Winding Refn and Nic Cage. Bad Lieutenant proved to me that what Cage needs is a suitably manic director/project to work with, and Refn has made some of the most delirious films I've seen in the last few years. Make it so.

if you like Nicholas Winding Refn Silly then take a look at a film called Valhalla Rising. Its one of the most beautiful films Ive seen for a while and very violent. You will like it.
As for collaberations Id like to see Tim Burton and David Lynch work together.

I've been wanting to see Valhalla Rising for a while now, unfortunately there's nowhere near me that's showing it. With more recommendation for it I'll see if I can hunt it down.

Interesting idea but I'm not sure those two would be compatible. Burton produces family friendly weirdness for the masses, Lynch produces more subversive weirdness because that is what naturally comes out of him. Saying that, both need a kick up the backside. Burton because he's been stuck in a rut for years and Lynch for the blot on his career that is Inland Empire which was a shambles. I'm hoping it was a one-off and he'll return to form with his next project. Burton's been overdue for a decent comeback for a while.

Im thinking more along the lines of Burtons visual wierdness combined with Lynches scripting. That could be something truly nightmarish.

Lets open this up a bit. It can be anyone past or present. So if you wanted to see say, Judd Apatow and Marylin Monroe...dont ask why those two, they are just the first that popped into my head!

Oof. It's the very definition of intense, moody cinema.

Something of a blend of early Vincent Ward, Tarkovsky and Braveheart.

Not a fun watch but, if like me, creative cinemascope compositions make you smile then there's much to savour here.

It's slow but absorbing, slightly pretentious at times and comes close to looking like a really good student film on occasion but i'd heartily recommend it. Unflinching in its violence too.

Approach with caution. You'll either love it or be bored stupid and put it off half way through.
