Well to me it was an average movie and suffered badly from one big factor. It was just another Star Trek movie.
No matter how much they tried to revamp it it was still stuck with the feeling of an outdated franchise.
Plotwise its all been done before within the Star Trek millieu and put forward nothing that wev'e not seen before.
Not the blockbuster I was expecting.

I always thought that the general view of things was that italics are used for emphasis, but all caps seem to work just as well. Trailblazing.

As for the film, I liked it. But, I saw a midnight screening of it, mildly sozzled and on a bit of a sugar rush, wouldn't have taken much to please me. It did the job well enough, but I'm in no rush to watch it again. Oh, and that lens flare got really bloody annoying really bloody quick.

Just showing a bit of passion for the Trek!

It could have been a hell of a lot worse when you look at the previous travesties. First Contact excluded, of course.
