Anyone else playing this? I'm not impressed with it, I have tried playing as a marine but its too dark to see what is going on and once those aliens attack you have no chance. I tried playing as an alien but the speed of movement made me feel travel sick. I'm bored with it already.

I rented it the other day, and im enjoying it so far. The first level or so as the marine was fantastic I thought. I love the way they have lifted the sound of the motion tracker straight from Aliens I was bricking it at some points. I havent had too much trouble with aliens themselves, but im a FPS nut so it seems easy(ish) to me (look, how patronising was that
) The Alien takes a while to get used to, but is great fun when you do, I try to think of it like a racing game (bare with me) trying to get a good line to a Marine and rip his to shreds. The Predator takes an age to get good with (well, a few hours) but agin with the Alien its just a bit of practice, and not acting like a Marine, being stealthy hiding around distracting people then ripping their heads off is great. As for the game itself, I dont think much of the graphics (why, oh why when making a FPS dont Devs use the Unreal engine?!?!?!?!?!?!) but the sound design is pretty good, although i can leave the genero-grunts, in a Universe packed with some great charismatic characters why did they not even give "rookie" a voice. Good game so far i reckon, although im glad I didnt buy it.

I'm getting a bit more into it now, still finding it quite hard playing as a marine, those aliens are quick. Although the PS3 network is down so I can't play it as it wants to sync with my trophy's but as it can't go online it won't start the game.

It was genuinely friggin' awful. The Predators felt as dangerous as a cockroach and regardless of the cloaking seemed to be spotted from last week, yeah, I know motion sensor but then they had all the strength of a starving octogenarian when confronted. The Alien campaign was just a mess and the Marine campaign could have been fun if they paced it a lot better.
Hopefully Colonial Marines will pan out far more successfully. R |

I finished the marine part of the game and was on the predator part but my son decided to press system restore on my PS3 and wiped the hard drive, why he did this I do not know, I should have forgiven him as he is only 9 but I beat him to death with his own shoe instead.
I can't be bothered to start the game all over again. |
