It got a 3* review over at the other mag. But i got the feel from the review that maybe they felt obliged to not give it below that. They didnt have many positive things to say, or negative for that matter, it was all a bit "meh"

Default Alice in Wonderland

Bored me and I found it a real waste of time. The 3D effects were ok but nothing I haven't already seen before. Helena Boham Carter was good as the red queen but played it like Miranda Richardsons Queenie in blackadder. Depp just looked wierd, with his big eyes he looked like a ginger haired Elijah Wood. The voices were ok, especially Stephen Fry and Alan Rickman, but then those two could voice anything and sound good.

Its about time Burton got rid of the wierdness in his films as he is overdoing it a bit. Maybe he could use different leading actors for a change too?

lol. I can totally see that. And that's not good.

I think the weirdness and striking visual style is all Burton has left these days, jay the stories often seem to be lacking. I agree he needs to branch out in his choice of lead actors. It's one thing to work with muses who you understand but sometimes a fresh choice can revitalise your creativity and at this stage Burton needs it if he's not to retread old ground in shiny new packaging.

Apparently this is well on track to do BIG money, which the queues out the door, and showings on the hour at my local would seem to confirm.

No doubt it will take big money, it cost me nearly 60 quid for a family of 4 and some food. To think I could have spend the money more wisely, like on 6000 penny chews or 3000 goes on the 2p machines at the arcade, the list is endless.

holy crap that's horrendous! Taking a family out these days takes a King's ransom. No wonder I couldn't afford to have kittens.

by the way jay, I have some 2 for 1 vouchers for family attractions given to me by WH Smiths. PM me if any good to you.

let's see there's Madame Tussauds, Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester, Warwick Castle, the Dungeons, Sea Life Centres & Sanctuaries. plus Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Legoland Windsor & Thorpe Park.
none of which I'm likely to go to, unless dragged by wild horses whilst simultaneously being tazered

Thanks for the offer my furry little friend but a mate emailed the same vouchers last week, haven't told the wife otherwise I'll get lumbered taking the family out for the day when I would much rather lay on the sofa watching films whilst eating Pringles
