Default Which video games would you like to see as films and who should direct them?

Being a Video game geek as well as a cinema aficionado, I love it when the two worlds collide.

The complete failures (hello Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) often fall into the so bad they're good genre, and they usually come with cardboard cut-out villains whose megalomaniacal plans for world domination are so obvious they hit you like blunt force trauma to the head (Dungeons & Dragons, take a bow)

Yes, we've all had our fingers burnt by this genre at some point. I mean really, who in the world wasn't massively disappointed with Doom?

Who else wept uncontrollably when told Neill Blomkamp wouldn't be directing Halo: The Movie anytime soon?

Anyway, I digress, the point of this thread is this:

Which video games do you want to see as films and who do you want to see direct them?

This CAN include films that have already been made but badly (Max Payne, we mean you), and fantasy casting welcomed too....

I'll get the ball rolling with Half Life 2, directed by the Wachowski Brothers with Clive Owen as Gordon Freeman (oooohhhh, controversial!)

Ladies & Gents, the floor is yours....

Sonic the Hedgehog.

Starring A.Hedgehog esq.
Who else.
Directed by Lars Von Tier
Because he does woodland animals so well, especially foxes.
Scripted by David Lynch.
Who else can write something with basically no plot and make it eminently watchable.
Visual Concepts by James Cameron.
It would look good in 3D and he loves working with blue things.

Liking it, they could use stop motion animation and dig out the models of Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox to play Tails!

WOLFENSTEIN

Directed by Guillermo Del Toro

Starring Matt Damon as B.J. Blazkowicz

Christoph Waltz could reprise his evil Nazi role for any of the baddies, as well as the guy whose face melts at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, provided they were happy to be typecast as horrible Nazis of course.
