Just curious Biscuits - in what way is it a push to compare her to Heath? Who's the more talented one in your book?

I'd rate them about the same talentwise, and Heath died of a drug OD (albeit to 'prescription' meds which seem to have less of a stigma attached to them, see Michael Jackson etc).

I think Winehouse's talent was a lot more wasted in life than Ledger's was. Ledger was a watchable, reliable and put in some good performances right up till he died. The same can't be said about Amy Winehouse. I'm not a big fan of either but if I had to compare I would say that Winehouse was a better singer than Ledger was an actor. That doesn't really mean much though.

Why on earth should grief be a competition?
What happened in Norway was just horrendous. But Winehouses death should not 'get in the way' of another tragedy just like her death should not be seen as taking away any grief people feel for the events in Oslo.

They're both instances of a tragic loss and waste of peoples lives. Being dismissive of either shows an incredible lack of compassion, regardless of your feelings for someone who 'should' have been grateful for all she had. I wouldn't wish what happened to Winehouse on anyone.

I wouldn't wish Blake Fielder-Civil on anyone, he's a complete scumbag leech.

What i don't get is people say she was legend . She had two thats right two albums out. If she had died 40 years from now with 20 odd albums to her name maybe. But now. Nope

Totally agree, just seen all the twats putting cans of lager and cigarettes outside her house, knowing Camden as I do, they won't be there for too long before the wino's have stolen them.

James Dean only made three films. And his talent wasn't a patch on Winehouse's, but he was just as self-destructive.

I don't consider him a legend either, but that is how he is perceived by critics and the public.
