I think it's a lost art more than anything. The supoosed audience for a musical is either kids or old folk.

Look at Glee though. All the proof that's needed that the musical is far from dead.

You're a cantankerous old git

'Glee' is really good fun, like a TV version of Grease, or High School Musical with gay jokes.

I love Glee. The CDS are excellent for singing along to in the car.

If anyones is near a Cineworld, the Monday night classic next week is Meet Me in St Louis.

I'm with Ancient. It's an assault on the ears and brain. And yet again demonstrates how musicals have become dumbed down to the thickest denominator - i.e. teens.

What have trousers got to do with anything?

I have never known the word hipster to have anything to do with trousers. I only know it as the group of people who enjoy things ironically, and make a lot of effort to not care about anything.

'Hipsters', young Mr Silly, was a phrase in the late Sixties and early Seventies for jeans which sat on the hip, rather than around the waist Cowell style.

Makes sense. Sound a bit impractical though, like they'd constantly be falling down, or you'd be walking on them a lot.
