I have had a good week in regards to competitions.

Won a beta key for the new World of Warcraft expansion, which I probably should have sold.

And, got an email this morning saying I'd won anther competition on Trailers from Hell. Roger Corman picked my tagline to adorn the poster for his latest production 'Attack of the 50 ft Cheerleader'. In return for which, I will receive a framed and autographed copy of said poster.

Tony Scott RIP, but...

If he'd only stayed around one day longer he would have discovered that the movie world considered him a genius, an original and a trailblazer. He was also one of the true masters of action cinema. Apparently.

Apologies for being somewhat insensitive but, Tony Scott was an average film-maker, capable of greatness as long as he had a great screenplay behind him (True Romance, The Last Boy Scout) but, more often than not, just churned out glossy, loud multiplex fodder. I'll give him Top Gun too, which earned him a place in cinema history, albeit for the wrong reasons.

I feel for his family. I can't even imagine what they must be going through, but the hyperbole spewed out by the media these days is ridiculous.

Yeah, I wouldn't have recognised him if he walked down the street, its the Ridley connection that made his death worth writing about i suppose.

I wrote to my MP regarding my pension (or rather the lack of it, thanks to Mr Cameron). I received back an incomplete letter from Mr Clappison, said MP, which ended mid-sentence. How fucking rude, that he cannot even be bothered to check that a complete signed reply had been sent. This was my email reply:
Dear Mr Clappison

Thank you for your letter in response to my own regarding the annihilation of teachers' pensions.

Perhaps you would like to finish this sentence for me: 'In his interim report, Lord Hutton expressed the need for short term savings to be made to address the imbalance between employer and employee contributions and the......'

That is where my letter ended. You did not even have the courtesy to send me the half of the letter with your signature.

It is gratifying to know that my future lies in such capable hands.

Yours sincerely
Jonesy

What a bunch of cretinous miscreants we have running the country. I hate these entitled ex-public schoolboys.
bet you're waiting with baited breath for the second half of your letter, Jonesy.

Imagine if the second page read:
Actually, I agree with you. We are crooks and scoundrels for cutting your pension. You fully deserve to receive what you worked for and paid into, in full. I will see that this matter is amended immediately
