The late, great Steve McQueen. Consistently cool. I used to tell people at school that he was my dad and I'd grown up never knowing him. Some actually believed me.

Agree completely. But in most of his roles acting talent wasn't a major requirement, he just had to play Steve McQueen.

Viggo seconded. He's such a likeable bloke with a quiet assurance about him. Effortlessly cool both on and off screen, whether being interviewed or even when playing a slimeball in A Perfect Murder.

Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and of course Kurt Russell are also cool customers.

Apart from Viggo, most of those mentioned above like to think they're cool, and try their hardest to be so, but ultimately aren't really.
