Default 'The Town', I'm really looking forward to it.

http://thetownmovie.warnerbros.com/

I'm a big fan of Affleck's directorial work and by that I mean I liked 'Gone Baby Gone' a lot, as an actor he can leave a lot to be desired, but he's not a bad actor. Erm 'Chasing Amy', that Jack Ryan film he did agggghhh, ok I'm out.

But behind the camera whetehr scripting or directing, the boy has a flair. I'm also a sucker for heist movies and the 'one last job' kind of flick.

I cried at 'Heat' when i was drunk once, everytime I watch it I'm desperate for De Niro to get away and scream at the T.V. when he turns the car around.

Of course 'Heat' is a masterpiece of the genre, but one can hope.I'm hoping for more of the gritty realism we saw in 'Gone..' translated into a decent thriller, I'm unfamiliar with the source material, but i'm hoping it's relatively dark.

Also Rebecca Hall is hot and Jeremy Renner is short so it's all good.

Saw the trailer for this when I went to see Inception and I must say that it does look really good.

Yay, he's short?

Looks pretty decent but trailers can make practically anything look good. Be good to see Jon Hamm on the big screen though, he's great.

Default The Town - Why no Hype?

Hamm, Renner, Affleck, Cooper, Postlethwaite and that girl from Gossip girl!! - why are people not more excited about Affleck's second directorial project? (Boston crime thriller - 'The Town')

'Gone Baby Gone' was undoubtedly one of the ********** releases of 2007 and (In this layman's opinion) single-handedly made-up for near career-enders like Gigli and Jersey Girl. So, key question is, why, after solid (if uninspiring work) in films like Hollywoodland and State of Play, can Affleck still not get people to pay attention?

Is it all Casey's fault? Or was Daredevil really that bad?

Iv'e met Jeremy Renner. He came across as self important egotistical and generally a bit off putting. Personally I don't like him as an actor either.

To get back on subject I too like Ben Afflecks work behind the camera. As Porkchop said Gone Baby Gone was brilliant and showed a genuine flair for getting the human side of a very complex movie across to the audience. Guess I will be watching the Town as well although Im not a big heist movie fan.
