God, GI Joe is awful, the bad CGI bugged me all the way through. Howabout Mad Max, or Ghostbuster? Both tremendous fun!

How about Gremlins for some old school fun?

teehee. Quote Immortalised forever in TOTAL FILM magazine.

poster above, if you mean Mad Max 2, then sure.

my pick: Resident Evil - Extinction. It's not smart but it's fun. And The Crazies, for something more recent.

I still maintain that as a good all round family fun movie in the mould of Indy, Jurassic Park etc that GI Joe is great fun. Who cares if the CGI is a bit shonky its not about the effects its about a action packed movie aimed at young teens and as such is a success.

Blade:Trinity. I know it's stupid but it does exactly what it says on the tin and never fails to entertain me.

Also, good shout on Demolition Man and Big Trouble in Little China.

And anything by Joe Dante.

@Fool, Blade Trinity, really?!?!!?!?!?! I thought it was beyond terrible, in fact I think it should be renamed; Blade, Beyond the Terrible Dome

Demo Man is a good shout, I think I was about ten when I first saw that, at the time it was possibly the best film ever made...in my eyes anyway.

I would add:

WEIRD SCIENCE

Genuinely funny as well as fun, pure 80s nostalgia but an absolute classic nevertheless

Ya' see, I missed out on that film when it was around in the first place, not sure why? I was kinda the right age and its the sort of film I would of watched. A mate of mine mentioned to me that I should really watch it, so I did and thought it was bloody awful.
Makes me wonder about rose tinted specs, would Big Trouble In Little China be as made of awesome if I hadnt fell in love with it as a kid?

I feel a thread coming on!

I thought Weird Science was really funny when it was first out in 1985, especially the scene where Anthony Michael Hall gets drunk in the black bar and starts talking jive.....'the bitch kneed me in the nuts'. Having watched it again recently I still find it funny but Kelly Le Brock was awful, she looked great but couldn't act to save her life. It did have a young RDJ and a young Bill Paxton and it also had the bloke that was the campest bad guy ever, Bennett in Commando. Oh and the weird looking guy from The Hills have eyes.

All reasons for greatness in my eyes, the points mentioned above are ingredients for cinematic alchemy...
