I don't mind him in small doses to be honest, although he only has two faces 'constipated' and 'really fucking constipated'.
With regards a 'Crow' remake, although it would undoubtedly shit all over contiunuity and wipe itself on the source material, I say go for broke with a female Crow. Summer Glau, in a death fuelled revenge pic? SOLD!

One of the original graphic novels (Flesh And Blood ) actually featured a female "Crow" so its a possible.

The idea is ridiculous of even thinking of re-making a film like the crow, simply because there is nothing that needs to be changed and due to respect for Brandon Lee. It was the film he died doing and said "I don't want to be remembered as 'the son of Bruce Lee'" which The Crow is one of the main things that people remember him for otherwise he would be remembered simply as Bruce Lee's son. Plus i need not mention the fact that Mark Wahlberg (or any other rumored actor to take up the role) could ever fill the shoes of Brandon.

I wouldn't recommend you mention Marky Mark
Is there anyone you think is up to the role? I agree that in an exact remake that nobody could fill Brandon Lee's shoes, but with a screenplay by Nic Cave, I have a feeling that the film's going to be very different from the original hopefully removing any need for comparison. |

i hope you are right with it being a completely different film and off the top of my head i cant think of anyone who could portray Eric Draven as well as Brandon Lee did, but i suppose there must be someone who can do justice to the name.

It's obvious Lee's role in the Crow was career defining for all the wrong (and admittedly some right reasons), but I think it's easy to forget he wasn't exactly an amazing actor, I have no doubt another actor could represent the Crow equally or if not better than Lee.
But hardcore fans amongst you will disagree with me on that one, which is fair enough, after all I think Kurt Russell and Nathan Fillion should be in everything. The real star of The Crow, in my opinion is the production design. But it was certainly a case of lightning in a bottle for the most part, so casting would have to be perfect in any remake, Summer Glau! As for Cave, his book is gloomy and entertaining in equal measure, did he write that bloody Australian western with Guy Pearce in it? Or have I imagined it? ![]()

You are sooo wrong about there being nothing to change. Read the original graphic novel by James O Barr and see what I mean. The film is a masterpiece of mood and style but its a long way off the "feel" of the book. The book is far more accented on the love story and the pathos of the character and this makes the violence far more shocking. It is out of character for Eric Draven to act like this and the book hits this on the head where the movie doesnt. There is plenty of room for a remake as long as these facts are taken on board.

Ancient, something else for you to celebrate this week. Marky Mark has officially declined the lead role in the new Crow film.
