CEX which I have ranted about before, truly is a pig stye of a shop, attracting the utter DREGS of human kind.
I went in there today, you may well ask why - I'd been in HMV and as usual they were overcharging for a cheap item I wanted which should have been no more than £3. So with extreme reluctance and trepidation I took a deep breath of the fresh air outside CEX and ventured in. There was the usual line-up of minging hoodies and anorak slugs hogging the queue and a variety of skanks looking like LOTR extras behind the counter. Plus one freak who could've been a girl, except he was flat chested and had a ginger beard. What a motley lineup, I thought.
I had plenty of time to study their fugness as I waited in the queue. And waited. And waited.
I never realised how long it could take to buy one f***ing dvd when you've got people putting greasy consoles plus leads onto the counter and getting all their kit checked, valued etc. There was one humanoid who looked like a dead spit of The Comic Book guy, only uglier, who was not doing anything, not serving, just dicking around putting stickers on two blu-rays and staring into space. How long does that take, you ask? It took longer than 15 minutes, which is approximately how much of my life I wasted in that stinking queue before suddenly saying "Fuck This." shunting my intended purchase onto the nearest shelf, and beating a hasty exit to fresh air and freedom as fast as my furry legs could carry me.

NEVER AGAIN.

My failed deliveries saga continues. A Royal Mail tracked parcel, as of 14/12/2010, WILL be put into their system on 9/12/2010. I know that they're behind the times, but really. You'd have thought that their system would flag up the date discrepancy and someone would ask a question, but apparently not.

My parcels are crawling in, oh so slowly. The most recent one I got was from amazon. It took nearly 2 weeks to reach me. I'm worried about a rare dvd I purchased (at a good price) which has been dispatched but hasn't arrived yet. If it goes missing, I won't be able to afford to order it elsewhere; the prices are too high. gawd I hate waiting for the xmas post!!

Does your rare DVD feature either Peter Cushing, Vincent Price or Christopher Lee?

Good guess. I've got not one but two rare DVDs caught in the postal system! Both star Peter Cushing. Both are drastically unaffordable to re-purchase if they don't arrive. The average delivery time seems to be around 2 weeks. I may be dead from anxiety by then!
On the up side, my DVD from the US arrived safely. It only took two weeks to come from the other side of the pond, yet we're waiting the same time for stuff to cross the country? LAME.

Well, my parcel finally made it into the mail system late last night. Only 7 DAYS LATE! Also been told that if it don't arrive by Monday 20th, Amazon will send a replacement, but that has no chance of arriving before Christmas. That'll be useful, then.

I'm faintly amused that the 'daily rant thread' hasn't been updated since the 16th December. I demand a refund!

Isn't this supposed to be the most depressing day of the year? Let the moaning commence!
