Countdown is acceptable background noise, other such real life filters I employ include the awesome 'Come Dine With Me' 'Super Nanny' and if you have The Food Network I can heartily recommend a late nigh show called 'Diners, 'Drive Ins and Dives'

Just to see exactly what most American's eat on a daily basis! Scary and fascinating in equal measures.

Pfft, Countdown is great. And no, it has diddly to do with me beign a student and students loving that kind of filler.

While I'm on it, Strictly Come Dancing is superb television.

Now this I have to disagree with, not just reality TV in general, but as a spectator sport, ballroom dancing is right up there with golf and snooker, except with added frous frous.

Much like various other random annoyances such as micahel barrymore, fat people in sports gear, ballroom dancing is just pointless.

I do have a love/hate relationship with Jamie Oliver, I find it fascinating when he goes travelling and samples other culture's food, before putting his own 'spin' on it, which usually involves copious amounts of olive oil.

But celebrity chefs as a rule should all be herded together and tortured/cooked to death in athe most inventive way possible.

Especially that Heston Bloominghell, what a pretentious pillock, "Today I'll be making a chocolate cake from 1066, using only reconstituted Norwegian Penguin anus and liquid mushrooms, not because it tastes good, but because I'm great and I can!"

Give me ego vacuum Ramsey any day!

Oh dear I ranted...

I quite enjoyed Strictly except that Brucie is past his sell by date now.

I like Dancing on Ice too, mostly because of Hollys boobs and the female professional skaters.
